I have been on two platforms for four years and in all that time I have seen the same person on both exactly twice. Two populations, one city, almost no overlap. One holds people my age who have been at this for a decade. The other holds everybody under thirty five. The two groups apparently do not know the other exists, and both are certain theirs is where the real ones are.
Forty, north of the river, submissive, ten years in. I am not running two accounts to hedge my bets. I am running two because they contain different people and I have not decided which of those people I want.
The difference in the writing is the interesting part. On one I write four paragraphs and get a thoughtful answer a week later. On the other I write two lines and get twelve replies, eleven of which are the same reply. Neither has produced anything lasting since my last arrangement ended, so I have started to suspect the platform is not the variable.
What I want is an ongoing structured thing with somebody present rather than intense. Weekly, with rules that apply between times, and an honest conversation every couple of months.
Not looking for anyone who considers the other sort of platform beneath them, because I have now heard that speech from both directions and it is equally boring in both. Not looking for a project. And not looking to be one of six people somebody is keeping warm.
