When I stopped, this was arranged on message boards by people who wrote paragraphs at each other. I came back in the spring and found that most of it now happens on things that show you a face and ask you to decide about it. I do not know how to decide about a face. I never did it that way, I am forty nine, and I am not certain I want to learn.
The nine years were a marriage which is now over, amicably, and two people who are grown and fine. I live in the belt and I am in town three days a week.
What I did not expect was that my old account is still there. Everything I wrote in my twenties is sitting on it, mortifying, and I have decided to leave it rather than perform a fresh start I have not earned. Anybody who reads it will at least know I have taken this seriously for a long time, which is more than a new profile could tell you.
What I want is an arrangement rather than a scene. Ongoing, weekly if it can be, service and structure rather than anything theatrical. I would prefer somebody who has also been away and come back, because there is a particular awkwardness to it that is difficult to explain to people who never left.
Not looking to be brought up to date on terminology as though the ideas were new. Not looking for a night. And not looking to be somebody's nostalgia.
