I chose a word in a signup form six years ago, in about four seconds, and every platform I have used since has treated that word as the settled truth about me. On the products with a form I am filed, and people write to the file. On the ones with a text box I am a few paragraphs and nobody has ever been confused for a moment. The difference in how I get approached is enormous and it is entirely the software.
Thirty two, Brooklyn, six years in, one arrangement in each direction, both of which ended for boring reasons.
What I want is somebody who can actually go the other way rather than somebody who agrees in principle and then treats each occasion as a concession. I do not need it to be evenly split. I need it to be real when it happens, and I need not to have to ask twice.
I lead better with somebody who already knows me and I hand things over better when the rest of my life is heavy, and I can usually say which is coming.
Not looking for anybody who needs me to be one thing so the story is tidier. Not looking to be a curiosity. And not looking for a person who calls themselves open to it and means they will get round to it eventually.
