In writing I can say exactly what I mean. In a live conversation my mind empties and I agree with whatever the last sentence was, which is an unhelpful quality in general and a genuinely unsafe one here. Knowing that about myself is why the platform model matters to me more than the people on it. I need the sort where you compose something, not the sort where you react to something.
Twenty five, west London. Two years of reading, several long conversations, and one meeting last autumn that I ended after half an hour because I could feel myself agreeing to things simply to keep the afternoon pleasant.
That is not a story about a bad man. He was fine. It is a story about me and speed, and about the fact that every fast platform I have used has trained me to answer quickly and warmly and without thinking.
What I want is somebody who will let a decision sit overnight, and who can tell the difference between me agreeing and me actually wanting something. I lean towards submitting.
Not looking for anybody who finds hesitation charming. Not looking to be walked through anything at a first meeting. And not looking for a person who reads a slow reply as a game, because I am only writing carefully.
