For a while I kept four versions of myself. A short one for the swiping product, a carefully coded one for the mainstream app, a long one for the written board and a serious one for the community platform where people would actually check. All four were true. Keeping four true versions of a person up to date is a part time job, and the effect was that I sounded like nobody at all.
Thirty three, Brooklyn, submissive, five years in. Three of them are now deleted. What is left is this, written once, at the length it needs.
The part I did not expect is how much the format had been shaping what I asked for. On the fast one I asked for less because there was no room to ask for more, and then I met people offering exactly the small thing I had described and was disappointed, which was entirely my own doing.
So, at full length: I want an ongoing dynamic with structure in it. Rules that apply on ordinary weekdays, a fixed evening, somebody who follows up on the thing I mentioned last week. I am good at consistency and poor with surprises.
Not looking for anything at short notice. Not looking to be somebody's third conversation. And not looking to compress this into eleven words ever again.
